Preparing UTF-8 files and managing local results
Convert the format first
These tools accept plain text, not DOCX, PDF, images or compressed archives. Export from your writing application to UTF-8 TXT. A CSV or Markdown file is treated as text, not parsed into a table or rendered as a document.
Recognize encoding errors
Older files may use a legacy character encoding. Strict UTF-8 decoding rejects invalid sequences rather than replacing them silently. Reopen the source in an editor that supports its original encoding and explicitly save a separate UTF-8 copy.
Work within explicit limits
Each file may contain up to 2 MiB; a batch supports ten files and 10 MiB. The comparison also has a four-million-line-pair bound. Processing runs in a background worker with a 30-second limit, and Cancel terminates that worker. Use smaller sections if you exceed a limit.
Understand temporary results
Outputs are stored in this tab for thirty minutes and can survive a refresh. Starting a new result replaces previous results. A result URL does not share the text with another person or device. Download important outputs before closing the tab or restoring a browser session.
